Guest rating: 3.4 / 5
Overview
Quality Inn Arkansas City North is a 3-star, budget-friendly hotel set on a rural street on the north side of Arkansas City, Kansas. It has a laid-back, motor-inn character with Route 77 just a mile away for easy road access. With a 3.4 rating from 288 reviews, it functions as a straightforward, no-frills overnight stop rather than a destination resort.
Rooms
Rooms are described as relaxed and simply equipped, each with free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, and a coffeemaker. Select rooms feature whirlpool tubs for guests wanting a bit of extra comfort. A guest report of a broken bed on arrival suggests room maintenance can be inconsistent, so it's worth requesting a room check if condition is a priority.
Dining & Amenities
Complimentary breakfast is served in an on-site breakfast room that guests have described as well organized, with options like waffles and yogurt. The hotel also offers complimentary parking, an indoor pool, a video game area, and an atrium noted for its distinctive carpet design. Pets are welcome for an additional fee.
Location & Surroundings
The hotel sits about 9 miles from Chaplin Nature Center and 7 miles from the Cherokee Strip Land Rush Museum, with the Etzanoa Immersion Center roughly 3.5 km away. A cluster of dining options, including Las Monarcas, Pizza Ranch, Billy Sims BBQ, and LaFiesta Authentic Mexican Restaurant, sit within about a mile and a half. Two casinos, 7 Clans and Native Lights, are within roughly 13-14 km, and Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport is about 70 km away for air travel connections.
Best for
This hotel best suits road travelers and budget-conscious visitors passing through on Route 77, as well as pet owners thanks to its pet-friendly policy and free parking. It also works for those visiting regional attractions like the Etzanoa Immersion Center, Cherokee Strip Land Rush Museum, or the nearby casinos, given its proximity and complimentary breakfast and pool amenities.
Travel tips
Route 77 is about a mile from the hotel, making it a convenient base for drivers passing through the area rather than relying on public transit. Since the nearest airport (Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower) is roughly 70 km away, plan for a car rental or drive time when arriving by air. Given mixed guest feedback on service, it may help to confirm reservation and cancellation terms directly with the front desk before arrival.
What guests say
Guest feedback is mixed, centering on a few recurring themes. Positive mentions focus on a well-organized and satisfying complimentary breakfast, clean rooms, and friendly front-desk booking experiences for some visitors. On the negative side, several reviewers described serious customer service problems, including disputes over room charges and one account of belongings being removed from a room during a check-in disagreement. Room condition issues, such as a broken bed, and a strong chlorine smell near the indoor pool area were also noted as detractors.
