Overview
Star City Inn & Suites is a 2-star budget motel located at 1308 N Lincoln Ave in Star City, Arkansas. It carries a public rating of 3.7 from 177 reviews, reflecting a property that leans toward simple, affordable accommodations rather than upscale amenities. The motel is positioned as a no-frills stopover option for travelers passing through this part of southeast Arkansas.
Grounds & Upkeep
Guests frequently note that the property is cosmetically well maintained, with tidy landscaping that gives the exterior a cared-for appearance. This visual upkeep is one of the more consistently mentioned positive traits among reviewers.
Location
The inn sits near Cane Creek Lake, a point of interest about 8.4 km away, offering a nearby outdoor option for guests wanting a break from the road. For air travel, Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport is roughly 93 km away and Mid Delta Regional Airport (KGLH) is about 95 km away, making this a drive-to destination rather than one suited for quick airport connections.
Rooms
Specific room amenities are not documented, but guest feedback is notably mixed on room quality -- some travelers describe the rooms as clean, while others describe them as being in poor condition. Prospective guests should weigh this variability when booking.
Best for
This property best suits budget-conscious travelers and road-trippers looking for an economical overnight stop near Star City, Arkansas. It may also appeal to those wanting proximity to Cane Creek Lake for a brief outdoor detour. It is less suited to travelers prioritizing consistent room quality or upscale amenities, given the mixed guest feedback on room condition.
Travel tips
Since the nearest airports (Bill and Hillary Clinton National and Mid Delta Regional/KGLH) are both roughly 90-95 km away, plan for a significant drive if arriving by air, and rely on a personal or rental vehicle to get around the area. Cane Creek Lake is a short trip away and worth a stop if you have time before or after your stay. Given mixed reviews on room cleanliness and service, it may be worth confirming pet policies and any additional fees directly with the front desk before check-in.
What guests say
Reviews reveal a split experience at this property. Several guests praise the motel for being clean, quiet, and offering friendly, helpful staff for a budget price point, and multiple reviewers specifically highlight the well-kept exterior and landscaping. However, other guests report starkly different experiences, describing room conditions as unsanitary and staff interactions as rude, with one account citing an unexpected and steep pet fee discrepancy. Overall, cleanliness and staff friendliness are the most frequently mentioned themes, but experiences appear inconsistent across stays.
